Fundraising Ideas: Want to support a local, cancer-related organization by hosting a fundraiser? Great, here are some ideas to help or choose your own fundraiser. Some Ideas: Bake Sales: Hold a bake sale at a busy location. Birthday Party with a Purpose: Individual has a birthday party and on the invitation, they state in lieu of gifts, please bring a check made out to the Holding onto Hope. Bowl-a-thon: Hold a bowl-a-thon where they get pledges per pin they knock down or a donation. Car Washes: This is another good idea for students as well as adults. Usually in the Spring, when everyone wants the mud off of their cars. Try saying "donations welcome" instead of charging a set price. Garage Sales: Work individually or as a team to set up a garage sale. Dinner: Have your team put together a chicken bbq, spaghetti dinner, etc at a local hall, club, or church. Make and Take: Put together a craft or an item to make and charge to make and take and have refreshments. Theme Dance: Students can hold a school dance. Adults can put together a dance at a local club or hall. Get a band or DJ to donate their services.
